Community Guidelines
Last updated October 26, 2026
ActorCourses.com helps actors and families find training that fits. These guidelines keep what members share honest, useful, and fair to students and studios alike.
Classroom Debriefs
A debrief is a comment about how a class actually runs, not a star rating.
- Firsthand only. Write about a class you took, or your child took, within the last two years.
- Focus on the craft. Describe the room, the feedback style, the homework, and who the class fits.
- Critique the class, not the person. No personal attacks, rumors, or claims you can't back up.
- Protect privacy. Don't name other students or minors, and don't share anyone's contact details.
- No conflicts of interest. Don't debrief a studio you work for, own, or compete with, and never post paid or traded debriefs.
- One account per person. Don't use extra accounts to add debriefs.
Your member name and photo show with your debrief by default. You can switch any debrief to anonymous, or back, at any time.
Structured answers, dates, format, and class size go live right away. Member written answers get a review first; if you edit published text, your current version stays live until the change is approved. Administrator-authored text does not require a separate approval. Contributor totals appear once three members have shared published debriefs. The two-year attendance window applies when submitting, not as an expiry date for published debriefs.
A clearly labeled fictional sample may appear where no published debrief has been added. It is not feedback about that provider, does not count as a contribution, and disappears when the first real debrief is published.
Your training list
List only studios you actually trained at, with honest dates. Training lists are self-reported; ActorCourses.com doesn't confirm enrollment. Your profile photo should be you, from a public image link you're allowed to use, such as your own headshot.
Listings, edits, and issue reports
- Submit real programs with accurate details. No spam, duplicate, or fake listings.
- Suggest edits that the studio's own website or materials support.
- Use "Report an issue" for closures, safety concerns, or serious errors. Reports can be sent without signing in.
Claiming a listing
- Only claim a studio you're authorized to represent.
- Keep claimed listings accurate and current.
- Claimed owners cannot edit or remove members' debriefs. Ask students for honest debriefs, never only positive ones, and don't offer anything in exchange.
Official studio responses
Verified claimed owners may post one official studio response to a published Classroom Debrief. Keep it relevant, factual, and constructive. Do not identify an anonymous contributor, name other students or minors, share private details, threaten or retaliate, or pressure anyone to change or remove their debrief.
Responses are not discussion threads. You may edit or delete your response, but cannot edit or remove the member's debrief. Responses publish immediately and are limited to 1,500 characters. We may hide or remove responses that break these guidelines; editing a hidden response does not restore it.
Public content changes show an updated date. Edited responses show an edited date; a debrief changed after the current studio response is marked accordingly. Pending written edits and identity-sharing changes do not count as public content updates.
Class schedules and sign-up details
Only verified claimed providers and administrators can add actual class, workshop, intensive, event, or program listings. General training offerings and individual services are separate from the sign-up schedule.
- Keep meeting days, times, time zones, locations, prices, and registration or email links accurate. Explain any prerequisites or application requirements.
- Update remaining spots and registration status as availability changes. An ongoing or in-progress class is not necessarily accepting new students.
- Remove or update canceled and outdated classes promptly. Students should confirm availability and policies directly with you.
Faculty, photos, videos, and documents
- List instructors you are authorized to represent, with accurate roles, biographies, and links. Do not imply an affiliation or credential you cannot support.
- Have permission to use each headshot, photo, video, and document, whether uploaded or linked. Get appropriate consent from identifiable people and a parent or guardian for minors.
- Do not share private student records, contact details, enrollment lists, or confidential documents. Check PDFs and image metadata before sharing.
- Use relevant, accessible media and keep external links working. Do not upload harmful, misleading, or unlawful material.
Sharing your schedule
You may use the supplied website embed, newsletter text, QR code, and badges to share your own listing. The website embed reads your published schedule when it loads; copied text is a snapshot and needs replacing after changes. QR links open your listing, not a reservation. Keep attribution and links intact, and do not imply that ActorCourses.com endorses your program.
